religious moment

If you ever
try to imagine
how many ways
love expresses itself

you may find
that all men
are expressions
of it

that there is
magic or
higher power
only a religious
mind could believe
the physics of

as love leaps out
from one soul
and touches us all.

Famous

it's not me that needs to get famous
it is the simple truth that needs fame.

it is beauty in the ordinary
that needs acknowledgement
not i.

i would be wrong
to call your attention toward me

or rather it would be an incorrect
interpretation of what I do.

i only hope to speak on behalf
of truth and beauty
muted by the allure
and clamor
of modern man's madness.

Magnetism

Feel something right inside --
it may be you aligning with something
ancient as the desire to save your own life
which evolution says
goes way back
way before Jesus, even.

Feel that and then listen
as the chorus of angels
exhales unanimous relief
which escapes as energy
which is transformed as it passes
through time and material
such that when it gets to you
it is a webpage, an out of place shoe,
the rain

the magnetism that
swirled all those things
round you
even pulled down
a part of the sky
to show you that
love
is
real.

Without You

Passion needn't be reckless.  And wild needn't be dangerous.
Intense needn't expire before mild.
All hearts have a rhythm.
One should never speak in absolutes, you know
it takes creativity, sometimes, to accept the truth.
Delusion to love a truth that is not for you.

And truth is not an argument of words
but whatever asserts its being
before your own.
No great thinker ever said,
I am perceived, therefore I am.

The saint called Peter will hold
a picture of you as a child
next to your old and weary face.
If there is a trace, not of youth,
but of that former you;
if that child was protected
you will step forward
transubstantiate into wave and photon
no less the you
you now are.

Can't you see?
Infinity is incomplete without you.

Memo:

Normal people: Try to be different.  You're boring.
Different people: Try to be normal.  You're not as interesting as you think.

random thought

While it is true that we can always improve upon things (what we make, how we are, etc.) it is also true that what is, as it is right now, is also an accomplishment. We mustn't be ashamed to be satisfied with the present state of things, even if we can see that they are not yet complete -- for they may never be.

Sleeping on a plane

Sleeping on a plane.
Can't be done.
The airlines doesn't want
you to take up too much space
and think that you don't have enough of it.

A claustrophobic is the second to
last person you want on a plane.

They pump in cold
air to shrink wrap you
shivering in a cubic
foot of inadequate recline
with a pillow too small
to fit between the seat
and that window cavity
so it just falls
into the lap or feet of the guy behind you.

The blanket, however, is fine:
made of the hair of a blue angel.
It actually makes you colder.

I woke up shivering.
Correction, I opened my eyes
and simply quit pretending to be asleep.
